2006 Chevy Malibux Maxx

Post by BaLa »

My car is getting old, and the miles are starting to get up there.

I was looking at New Used Cars.
A local car dealer has what seems to be a decent deal on an 06 Malibu Maxx.

The Car has 32,269 miles on it.
It's got the 3.5l V6.
It looks good inside and out.

I've already checked with the insurance company, and it looks like insurance would go up, by about $20/month.
I currently have an 2001 Mazda Protege Dx 5spd w/90k miles.

Anybody have a Malibu?

Looks nice, no major recalls to worry about, just make sure you run the VIN, make sure it hasnt been totaled or any water damage from katrina.

I ended up getting it.

So anybody know anything/much about the newer Chevys?
I tried getting another key made at Wal-Mart, and it didn't fit in their machine.
Do I need to go to the dealer and pay them an outrageous amount of money to get an couple extra keys?

I have a bad habit of locking my keys in my car, so I used to carry 2 car keys on me at all times :D LOL.
They gave us 2 keys, I've got one the wife got one, but I'd like to have 2 for me.

I'll take some pics tommorow.

Chevy dealer buy me is only like 5 bucks more than other places.

If they try to rip you a new one on the price you could find a place in the phonebook that does it.

just in case somebody else might read this...looked at the owners manual..

When a new vehicle is delivered, the key has a bar-coded key tag. This tag may be removed by your dealer before it is delivered.
Each Tag has a key code on it that tell your dealer or qualifed locksmith how to make extra keys. Keep the tag in a safe place. IF you lose your keys, you'll be able to have one made easily using this tag.
If you need a new key, go to your dealer for the correct key code.

If the manual isn't in the form of a "pop-up" book... I don't read it either. I like pictures though....
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.
