Free Image Hosting

Post by Philip »

To add images to your posts, the files need to be hosted somewhere, then, in your post you need to use the IMG tags around the full address of the image, here is an example:
["img"]http://www.url.of.provider.com/folder/image_name.gif["/img"]
Note: You have to remove the quotes in the above example

Here is a list of some free image hosting sites, some might be down. Feel free to add to this list:

1. Your ISP might work best for image hosting, most ISPs provide a few MB of webspace.

http://www.250free.com/

Last but not least:

SG Gallery - free for registered members with over 100 posts:
http://forums.speedguide.net/all_albums.php

Another, not completely free service, but with the quality of service you can expect from us:

SG Premium Membership

Adequate storage, unlimited bandwidth, fast servers. The service also includes a Premium security portscan and Ads-free site to premium members !

don't want to be the bringer of bad news but
1/23/2003
ranchoweb.com is now charging a nominal fee for our previously free 1MB image hosting accounts. This is to prevent our site from completely caving in due to it's own weight. It was never our intention to charge for these accounts, but it is no longer economically feasible to continue to offer free space to the hundreds of new users who sign up each day. The 1MB accounts are now $9.95 per year, that's less than 84 cents per month! Well worth it, and the service for all members has already greatly improved

I use Lycos UK

http://lycos.co.uk

It can hold 50 MB, which is huge for a free host. I usually upload pictures and small-sized movie files up on there, and for the big movie files I use the Comcast Webpage provided when you sign up. Works nicely..
