Infractions

Post by Philip »

We've implemented a new "Infraction" system to help us automate the management of warnings for breaking the SG rules.

Infractions carry a point total given by the SG staff for specific offenses. Infractions/Warnings will be given and linked to specific posts, and include a PM explaining the reason, if necessary. The system also allows for warnings without adding any infraction points. Warnings serve as a method to remind users of the rules and encourage following them without actually receiving infraction points. Each infraction has an expiration time, usually a month. When the infraction expires, the associated points are removed from the user's point total. Users can see their infraction level (if any) and links to posts in their profile. If you are given an infraction/warning you'd also receive a PM. If you feel you've received an infracton without a just reason, you can always contact an administrator.

Here are the current infraction points:
Inapropriate Images / Links - 2 points (expire in 1 month)

Offensive Language - 5 points (expires in 1 month)

Spam Account - 100 points = immediate automatic ban
Reaching a certain infraction level may cause users to lose some permissions on the forums, or even an automatic ban. Currently, 100 infraction points will automatically ban the user permanently. We may be adding other levels to this infraction system if it proves effective.

Note this is not intended as a reverse reputation system, or any form of approving/disapproving user content - we have absolutely no desire to micromanage content on the forums. It is rather a more advanced form of warning/tracking system for obvious breach of the SG rules.

You can discuss this infraction/warning system -here-

Going forward, we will enforce our inappropriate image policy more strictly to align better with Google Ads policies.

Any images that contain nudity, are sexually suggestive, or offensive in any way will be removed, and further actions may be taken against repeat offenders. Please keep the forums clean, thank you for understanding.
