Un-capping not illegal
This is the most hillarious thing I have seen on the internet (I don't know if thats sad or great for me). I have gotten my whole office, home even my grandmother overseas has gotten attached to this thread. IM ACTUALLY HAVING PHONE CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FRIENDS,COWORKERS and OTHERS ON WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. Violent, if this is true or false, who cares, you my friend and all those who have paticipated should all take a bow, especially those moderators....lol
It took me 3 and half hours to read all this, and to think I got here by accident. Oh about that deal, sure it would prove your innocent or guilty (maybe) but then what, does this thread end? what about the aliens from mars taking over our planet?
P.S. What ever happen to that Kip Paterson guy. Did I miss a scene?

Heh, this is turning more into a chat/psychology analysis than an Uncapping topic
I lost my 2¢ to some punk kid, so this is just my opinion =)

You already do it, why not get paid for it? http://www.refercenter.com/neoguyver

I don't know who I should be laughing at? All you Bashers? Voilent? Or myself for adding to this..... I think most of you are just trying to figure out for yourselfs how to upcap your modems. Instead you should just complain to the cable provider to provide better service and customer support. Ever call Road Runner for tech support. It's full of Moorons who could not get a job at Mc Donalds sweeping and I'll bet the other compaines are at the same level. So what if Violent took you all for a ride. Bet its not the first time you have even been on a ride! If Voilent's story is true good for him... if not it's been a good laugh!
Violent ,
Its still brewing , your taking to much time.
I know They cut you off to half the net<

Since this topic will probably be the longest one ever in this board, i'd like to be the last one to post something...
Violent had most you fooled, and he probably got what he wanted(Attention)...
he's probably a lonely person who doesnt have nothing better to do , and probably got Fuked up the a$$ by his father when he was a child...
(this will probably get him to reply something)

hmm. Kip Patterson. Do you just argue for the sake of arguing?
Well Here is something that you can turn all Blue in the face over and claim impossible.
My Motorolla Cable modem downloads normally at 900kbps
and it uploads at approx 700kbps
I dont know why it is so fast but it is.
Now I am sure you are going to argue with me about this but I am here and I see it daily.

No, I don't argue at all. My only reason for posting is that I felt and still feel that Violent's post described things that were not possible.
If you have a Motorola Cybersurfr or Cybersurfr Plus modem, and the speeds you report are in bits, then they are achieveable.
If they are in bytes, then either they are wrong or the published Motorola documentation is wrong. Which is it?

I don;t know.
I linked to speedguide from another site. I am glad I did because man this thread has been very interesting to read. Gave me a few laughs to.
As far as everything is concerned i have to disbelieve this uncapping story. The RDC's control the bandwidth and basically if it is not there to take then how can you take it?

Um... 900kbps / 8 bits per byte --> 112.5 kilobytes per second... that's not that fast for cable... that's like lower end average. Violent claims 900KB/s which is 900x8-->7200kbps and before that he claimed 27MbpsOriginally posted by Sawzall:

Purple Bunny Reporting for duty...
I'm really PurpleBunny and anything that has to do with mail or message transportation is taken over by the PostalBunny who delivers it for me... so i'm reporting for duty to my postalbunny... which doesn't make much since, but don't even tell a Schizo he's doing something wrong... it's a bunny system, you'd have to be a bunny to understandOriginally posted by uniqueVisage:
Sorry if Im moving away from the topic, but isn't Postal's Quote should be:
"Postal Bunny Reporting for Duty",
instead of
"Purple Bunny Reporting for Duty". Just
curious,.. thought maybe you kept on making typing errors.. i dunno.,.anyway
...
as you were...

Plz don't flame me for this message....
I'm probably beating a dead horse here but this is mainly a general observation I've made after reading the entire thread: Violent tells the story of his uncappin' of his modem and then there's a huge discussion and then the flamers start to attack and then make a mockery of the original idea. Now that Violent has just given up and started not caring, we are still debating on how real this story is. I ask why? It's probably not affecting you so why do you care? If Violent wants to take the time to respond to an alledge pseudo-thread it's his own business I don't think that it really needs to be attended to with such vigor and enthusiasm? Let's just move along.....
Please note I'm just an insignificant teenager who's just given his opinion on the situation....
Don't respond if you don't want to.
