link speed

Post by ressac »

my ISP speed is 100Mbps and this is true if i'm on wired connection

with mbp 13" 2011 late over wifi with asus rt-ac68u i'm getting transmit Rate between 100Mbps and 200Mbps

but in real life my maximum speed is below 50Mbps (speedtest.com , torrent, direct downloads, etc.)

os 10.9.5
wpa2-personal/aes
40hz width channel
distance minor than 10 meters (even 1m-5m speed is minor than 50Mbps, but transmit rate is higher than 200Mbps)
there is no much interferences in air
i'm only one who connected to router
i've also tried 5ghz and get maybe 70Mpbs maximum and i was standing in front of router(1m-2m)

...

any tips? what is going on ?
i just don't understand why speed is 50mbps-70mbps if link speed is around 200mbps

p.s. i've tested with other cheap routers and it gives same results
