High Jitter at random times

Post by fashionguy »

Hello,

I am experiencing large variances in jitter. If I take 4 tests on pingtest.net in a row, my jitter will range from 1 to 60. My internet connection is fine, streaming is fine, but playing games such as counter strike(a fps game) is hard.

I will try to provide as much information as possible. Please ask me for more if this is insufficient.

- Cellpipe 7130 RG (Bell internet DSL.. i think)
- Mulitple computers directly connected to Modem
-Pingtested on my computer, and also my brothers computer while there were no downloads/streaming/internet activity(other than the pingtest), same result
- pinging my router(192.168.2.1) resulted in anywhere between 0-21% packet loss over a 3-5 minute window
here is a tracert to yahoo:

Trace complete.
(this trace was done when the internet was fairly decent)

I have tried to talk to bell about my problem but none of thee technical support after 4 hours on the phone knew what packet loss even was. I was hoping the great people here at speedguide.net could help me.

Thank you in advance!
