Picking up relatives at LAX

Post by Easto »

I just found out that my wife's sister is flying into LAX at 9pm Wednesday and guess who has to go get her? LAX is an iconic nightmare to deal with around the holidays and now I'm going to be doing it the night before Thanksgiving. Well, there goes 3-4 hours down the drain.

The things we do for women, heh. It's worth your peace of mind though, otherwise you will be made to feel guilty ;)

For 2 miles I only drove at 1mph. From the time we were at the offramp until we got the the point where you could pick Arrivals or Departures took 2 hours! It was worse than I could have ever imagined. The good news is that I found out that we're not dropping them back off this evening. We're dropping them at my wife's sister's place and they'll be taking them. There is a God!

Traffic is likely better now though, heh.
Sorry you had to endure all that.

Well not LAX..
We went to Italy for like a week.

Got back Wed before Thanksgiving
DFW wasn't that bad.

Spent the night at a Hotel Pre Flight.
Got on the shuttle back to the Hotel. Traffic was moderate in DFW area with just a few slowdowns in usual spot(s). Decent drive back.
It's about 2-2.5hours back home from DFW.

LAX is a completely different animal. Ugh So glad I don't have to mess around in Cali anymore especially LA.

Was a "week" enough? I've offered to take Mrs. Easto there a couple of times but due to her work she can only afford 1 week off at a time. I was just worried that we would feel rushed.

I plan on going to Europe in June/July next year with the Mrs. Actually she will be at some conference in France for a week for work, so I figured I'll tag along and we'll hop around for a bit after to make a month of it.

Never really is enough (1 week) :D
But yeah pretty much the same I suppose.
By the time I take 2 weeks off work and not have any vacation left, as well as increased expenses.
Just nice to be able to go...

Not too many places I guess.
Spent a couple days in Milan.
Day trip to Venice.

Stayed in Rome rest of time.
Also went to Pompeii.

Just now seeing this.
