Passing along some sad news, those of you from the old days of Speedguide surely remember Patrick K...aka J.C.O.S.
A few of us have followed his journey via Facebook, he had been diagnosed with cancer a while back. He and his wife had been posting regular updates along his battle. For the past several days or more...I had noticed the posts stopped. This morning I made a post on his FB page inquiring, as I saw a few other concerned folks posting this morning. Sadly just a few minutes ago, I saw a new post on his wifes FB page.
I fondly remember back in the old days of the Speedguide forums....JCOS was one of the heavy posters here....as his job at that time had him traveling all over the US and he spent so much time on the road, and our forums gave him a place to hang out at night to keep occupied. Heck..at times we'd often have spamming competitions...the posts were so rapid and frequent.
RIP JCOS!

****, enough bad news this year. DAMN R.I.P. Patrick. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved and missed, every year" {Pours out a healthy shot of Jameson's on the ground for Patrick}
I remember him going to Iraq and thought, damn that guy has giant size balls! he posted lotsa pics etc...
Sad to hear he has passed
one of these days im gonna hit the east coast and visit some of you old bastards!
I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous
sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box .
OMG, such a sad thing to hear about his passing, he was a genuine all around nice guy that always had me feeling good with his great outlook on life, such a terrible loss
Wow sorry to hear that! Wish I had known he was on facebook. He was a character!
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.
That is sad news. I may not be as prolific as some of the heavy hitters here are (and used to be) but I did enjoy following his posts. He did seem to lead a pretty crazy life. RIP.
I had the pleasure of meeting this fine seadog when he was still working stateside. He was a great friend and the loss I feel in his passing lease but one regret...that I had spoken to him more. The day I heard of his passing had me shocked and dazed...just going through the motions...
Wow sorry to here this we all use to play battlefield 1942 way back when! My slow internet i couldnt get the updates and the desert combat mod and he sent me all them on about 3 cds! A great man
Very sad news indeed. R.I.P. My thoughts and prayers to His family

It is difficult to read this without a hard swallow and a sniff of tears. There was this halcyon era, where the computer hobbyist would join in with general conversation. It's been said that SG was like that friendly corner bar back in its prime. Although, it has been supplanted by faceback and its kine. We do stroll back to the old neighborhood.... Unfortunately, this time to find there will be one barstool never to be used again.
Damn it
This shot of Makers Mark is for you Patrick. See you again on the other side.
