Nic change - ip didn't refresh
i recently changed my nic from netgear to intel
and my ip was changed but the tcpipoptimzer still reports the old ip |

i am on cable and i guess removing the netgear card and putting the Intel Pro 100 card in called for an ip change EPoX EP-8KHA+ KT266A AMD Athlon XP 1600+ Palomino 1400MHz/1.4GHz Silent Systems "Q Technology" Ultra Quiet 300W ATX GainWard GeForce2 PRO/450 "Golden Sample" 64Mb 4.5ns DDR TV-out Retail AGP Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Player Retail PCI CPU fan SILVERADO 512 Mb memory i use a surfboard SB3100 on the Chello Network in Sweden that connects to a Netgear FS105 switch |

Changing NIC will not change IP, just cable modem

well the ip IS changed!
I use remote administrator to use my desktop at home from work and i HAD to run home to run ipconfig to see the new ip! |

If you are on the old @home network it will change since they were bought out

Do you have router as sometimes it messes up IP, don't edit anything just detect automattically and not in LAN settings under internet options, connections

no i don't have a router,
tonite i will try to close down the surfboard, the switch, my notebook and my desktop for one minute. maybe the ip will be reshreshed then |

ahh my technician at work just pointed out that my isp
gives me a dynamic ip adress. But why is it tcpipoptimizer don't recognize this ? |

Well, Configure's IP sure did change, and on many systems it does change when you change the NIC. Perhaps as many as one-half the cable modems in use are pre-DOCSIS and do not have a MAC address on the WAN side.
I believe that all of the Road Runner system ties the IP to the NIC. Kip |
