Microsoft Outlook Server Problem (comcast)
I recently changed my comcast password. So after doing so, and testing it to make sure it worked (which it did) I went into my outlook and changed my password in the e-mail settings. When I hit test account settings, it gave me all checks except when trying to send the test e-mail out.
Another window poped up asking me to enter a network password, but had my comcast username above it. I tried my new password and no luck. I tried my old password and bingo! I temporarly went into the advanced settings and under outgoing mail, I unchecked "use the same as incoming" and checked the option for a different username and password. I put my old password in there with my current username. I went to test account settings and everything works perfectly. My problem is how come my outgoing mail server (smtp.comcast.net) only works with my old password still? My incoming mail (mail.comcast.net) works with my new password. I found this very strange....can anyone help steer me in what I maybe did wrong? Thanks Mike |

Give theirs servers time to synch up? Else..call them and request a change in case it didn't automatically update like it should have.
