he is right that guy on the phone can't phyiscally change the router connection on the back bone with high ping most of the time it's on route to your house or on the pole durring off peak times the isp's usually do there maintence if you want lower latency maybe try dsl but even then you probably will end up with the maintence issues.

I understand, but the fact that this has been going on for almost 2 months is ridiculous. Comcast service here in dallas is horrible and there are no other alternatives for high speed in my area. I've called comcast numerous times before and so have my friends who have been having the same issue, but nothing got fixed.

and btw... the guy who was suppose to come to my house and set up my comp for comcast didn't show up for 3 weeks, so i called comcast and did it by myself over the phone in less than 5 mins. The ONLY time i've ever seen anyone from comcast was when one of their guys came to my house to collect the 20$$ first month's fee(at the time when it was 20 for 6 months).

can you post your tracert here and have us take a look at it.. There is a bunch of ATT routers that will not respond back to pings truthfully.. reason is the priority of the ping response is low priority. Changing to another ISP will or may be alot worse then you think.. I have been with a ton of ISPs and found that customer service is about the same everywhere you go. Depends on who you get. atleast its not coming from india. Anionweed.. you are pretty new to gaming.. am i right?
Most REAL gamers know how to trouble shoot this type of instance. They know that to really get a good test going on servers you have to try a bunch of them.. Ones on the east coast versus the ones on the west coast. It may be a router along the path that is causing this.. but you know now about the att routers think they are 12.'s if I am not mistaken. post some data here and have some real gamers look at it.. might find someone that is playing the same game on the same server. never know.. info is key...

No i am not new to gaming, around peak hours every game i try to play from madden to cs:source lags bad. And usually when i run tracert on a good connection i have one thing time out and that is my modem, but on a bad connection i have at least 3 of att.net's routers timeout on me. And plz tell me how to copy out of dos...

Talking like that isn't gonna help you.

Comcast does not own all ATT addresses. Comcast bought out ATT's broadband service tho.

You need to find a day when u have time to kill with the tech guy at ur home its usually a 4 hour window.

Agreed, but no tech works late and i work all day. I'm gettin rdy for college so i have no time to schedulle a truck to come in the afternoon, only in the morns but they never show up.

Can you post a www.yahoo.com tracert... comcast.net isnt really a good place to ping..
