Ok, my mouse is giving me some problems. (On my sisters computer) It is a Win98 OS and when I left click it just acts like I right clicked. When I right click twice on an icon nothing happens. But when I left click on icons on desktop, it brings up "Open" and "Shortcut" only. And then I can right click open and the folder will open.
All my mouse settings are fine and I have re-added the drivers. Just a regular PS/2 mouse. Any help is appreciated, cannot have my sister on my computer now. ![]() Anthony |

That happens to me all the time in 98 ARS, it must be a 98 glitch.
To stop it, all I have to do is right and left click a few times (rapidly) and it goes away. |

Try removing the mouse from the system and let windows redetect and load the standard driver for it. If it still doesn't work right, go to start>run>type in msinfo32 and enter>software environment>system hooks--See what programs are considered hooks and try temporarily disabling them one by one until you find the one causing the problem.

Also, if it helps, I can select the text portion of icons on the desktop and given the option to rename them, but it seems like it just doesnt recognize dbl clicking at all. Is there anything in the registry that could've messed up... hmm
