    CPU 2.4 or 2.26?

Hey I was going to buy the 2.4 for an IT7 MAx abit mobo. But when I looked the 2.26 actually cost more. The chips are both 533fsb and northwood "B" does the 2.26 have a better overclocking than the 2.4? Ultimately which is the better processor??

I'd say buy the 2.4 NOW before they realize what's going on...

I just bought a lite dvd. Two days later the price goes UP $7. Lesson learned... buy when you need, what you need.

Reason I asked is I heard the 2.26 overclocked higher than the 2.4

yes.... but if the 2.26 overclocks to 2.6 and the 2.4 overclocks to 2.6....

Not only is the 2.4 going to last longer and cooler, it's cheaper!

When I bought my 1.8a, they had JUST come out. Yes, there were rumors that the 1.6 would oc higher. I decided to spend the extra 50 on the 1.8a though and Im glad I did. Why? Because no two cpu's are made the same. Sure, some 1.6's will overclock higher then my 1.8. However no two chips are the same. My 1.8 is a little lame on the oc'ing. The fastest I've hit was 2.37. However, running that fast cuts my video encoding time almost in half to a hour, versus running at 1.8.

So, the question remains. Do you spend MORE money risking that you'll be able to overclock higher? Or do you spend LESS money knowing you'll get the better deal.
