Firewall and MSN issue, plz help!

I set my computer as an Exposed Host, as many artical said, it should be outside of the firewall of the router. And some programs, like eDonkey proved it's unrestricted (open) and some program didn't, such as Kazaa and MSN, e.g. the voice conversation of MSN still can't be performed (can't connect to other computer).

does the operating system or program also need to be adjust? how? i'm using win2000.
