Go in to your bios and set it to boot from cd rom, put your xp disk in and follow the steps. You can delete the partion and reformat all from right there and then install.

Right when your computer turns on ,the first screen at the bottom it might say press *** to enter setup. if it don't right when it is turned on press either delete, F1 or F2 , most likley its one of them. then you be in your bios. Look for the boot tab and in there move your cd-rom to the 1st boot device. the top of the list.

I think reformatting is a little drastic. Have you tried going into Control Panel/Add & Remove and tried to "remove" IE - to see what happens? I can'at remeber if there is still a repair option there or not. Also, have you tried upgrading IE6. One last thing - do EBay and DSL reports require Java to be installed - if so, is it?

I am sure others will come up with other things to try before suggesting a reformat.

bummer - well as a last resort - you could try installing XP over itself - XPro - when you put the CD in (while in windows)- you get an UPGRADE SUGGESTED option - not sure about XP Home

IE cannot be remove....It's part of Windows. If your IE is messed up badly, I suggest u do a format on your comp, since it won't run stable with a bad IE anyways

I still can't believe that people still use Windows XP.
Look at the bullcrap that just happened because one thing messes up you have to reinstall.
    I R ANTI-XP
Windows 98Se, Windows 2k and Mandrake work great on this system, and my other one has Windows ME, Windows 2k, and Mandrake.
minor problems happen from time to time, but never had to reinstall OS because of a website not displaying.
