    Make your own installer

    Using a file named iexpress.exe

    For anyone interested.
You can make an exe file containing any files you like, and have one of them 'execute' during the install.
A few more features too, like adding a message for the user, check it out.

Windows 2000 has this file located in \winnt\system32 dir.
    Also available in XP

To use it, and make your own installs, just type: iexpress in the 'run' box and hit [enter]

Since there is some interest in this, I'll give you a link to a free installer that I use. it works with 98/2k/and XP.

It has many more features than iexpress. It takes a bit of learning, but if you play around with it, you'll pick it up easily.
I have used it for over 2 years now, and love it. I usually have it launch a batch file after the install, since I can only launch 'one' executable, but from that 'one' batch file I can launch as many as I like.

It's called "Setup Generator" and it's the 3rd one down on the page. http://www.gentee.net/

A little bump before I retire for the night.
I think this may be of interest to many members.

Try the "Setup Generator" and use a standalone exe file (one of your favorite programs that needs no installer) and make one for it, or many of them, to get some practice.

This free program from www.gentee.net adds an entry to the 'Start Menu' and you can make your own links to any executables, txt, html, mp3, whatever etc, adding to the ones it makes as well.
    Fun to play with.

One more great thing I forgot to mention about the "Setup Generator" from www.gentee.net is that you can add registry keys.
This option is great for making one big customized tweak for you and the way you like your PC windows settings, TCP RWIN, etc tweaked.
