Have you loaded a new program recently?
click start
run
and type
msconfig
and click on the startup tab
Uncheck any programs that you don't want to autostart upon boot. Hope this helps.

sounds like either your drive is going out, or a bad controller. possibly a loose connection somewhere.

I tried pressing del key to get in bios setup but I can't
Have you ever been able to boot from the FDD before? Have you recently formatted your HDD? Have you recently add a new piece of hardware video card, NIC, etc...? What brand of computer is this, the delte key doen't always get you to the bios sometimes its F2 or F12 or a combonation.
She's presenting like a mandrill!
ya befI did before I formatted my hd because my floppy drive wasn't working
no new hardware in pc
Intel brand
I tried putting in a nother harddrive and I still get the same message
invalid...
Sounds to me like you don't have an operating system installed on your hard drive yet, hence the "invalid disk" message that you're getting...you'll have to boot off of an OS install disk, or a boot up disk with cd support so you can install windows back onto the hard drive...

You should check the boot sequence in your BIOS. It could be that it is set to boot from the HDD first and the rest later, which could then give you this message and prevent you from booting off other devices, if you don't have an OS installed.
Look at the screen while it boots up, it should tell you which key to press to get into the BIOS. If your screen turns on too late to see it, trying a "warm boot" (Press [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL]), that should leave the monitor on.
Then of course you need the install disks or CD of your OS of choice to boot up. If you don't have a bootdisk, grab one here... http://www.bootdisk.com/
(Of course, there is still the 0.0001% chance that you have one of the FUBAR systems that have the BIOS on the HDD which was thus lost when you formatted, but as mentioned above, very unlikely)
