Cool Getting ready to use drive image 5.0

And I need to know which of the options I need to choose to back up my entire hard drive to CDR's. Should I use:

    A) Quickimage

B.) creating image files with drive image DOS

    This is my computer configuration

    Dell Pentium IV 1.8 gigahertz
    512 MB Rambus memory
40 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
    ethernet card
    cable modem
    Windows XP
Dragon NaturallySpeaking software for speech recognition, version 6 preferred
    pinnacle studio 7
    Sony TRV 20 camcorder

After I do this I will be installing and 80 GB hard drive and I want
to send an image of everything is on my 40 GB hard drive to it. One option should I used to do this? I'll be using my 80 GB hard drive for two purposes. One will be to back up my main hard drive. The other will be to input video files for editing. Should I just create 2 file folders on this hard drive and send the associated information to them or should I use partition Magic and create 2 partitions on my 80 GB hard drive for each of these purposes? I know this sounds like a very basic question but the tech person at CompUSA was very firm in his opinion that I should not use partition Magic and just set up 2 file folders on my hard drive.

Are you replacing the 40 or adding it? If you're adding it just install the 80 then image the 40 to it.

Depending on your needs you can partition the disk anyway you need to. 40 and 40 would be fine.

I would recommend using a completely dedicated partition for video capture and editing(no prog. files etc). You're less likely to get stutters of ddrrrs because the only reading/writing going on will be the clip files themselves, so they will be less likely to get fragmented.
I know that wasn't very articulate but i have to go and am in a rush just wanted to post something.
