New to cable modem, got 1 problem...need a little help =)

Just got my cable modem 2 days ago, it's a Motorola Surfboard with a LAN card and that's about all I know lol.

    Now the problem:
I use America Online and I can download e-mails with no problems but I can't upload e-mails WITH FILES ATTACHED. It freezes up right when I hit send, then I have to hit ctrl-alt-dlt and close aol from there and then restart it. I've tried it numerous times and it freezes each time. My friend is having the same exact problem with his.

When I get on AIM I can upload with no problems but not AOL. I e-mailed AOL requesting help and they sent me back the usual e-mail that never fixes anything. So any help ya'll can give me I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks.

Is there a reason you want to keep AOL when you have service through your cable provider?

Also, what OS are you using and are you running any virus/trojan programs?

I'm keepin aol, I'm not feelin any other services.

And I'm running Windows ME and I have no virus programs, I had the Mcafee but the trial ran out and I havn't purchased it yet.

I run a Zonealarm Pro firewall but even when I shut it down the uploads still freeze up.

Sounds like an AOL problem. And, I sorry, but I am not an expert on AOL. Anyone else here have any ideas to help our new member?

I agree, you should dump AOL. It is nothing but a pain in the butt and has alot of security holes.
