editing Jpg's

GAH! tried that one that JBKM suggested but I can't get it to compress hardly at all!!! What am I doing wrong??? Is it possible to compress a JPG image to less than half it's size?? I think I'm just a *******.

GRR..just tried yours as well Humboldt and I see no size differance between compressed and non-compressed images!? What am I doing wrong?

Not sure. Are you trying to change the format from one compression to another, or just resize?

I just change the pixel dimensions, hit the go button, and 10 seconds later there it is.

What sort of "changing" are you trying to do?

ok...here's what I'm trying to do. All I want is to compress an image...not a very big one either...down to the 80x80 pixel size that is required to use an image as a custom avatar here. Everytime I use these compression/jpg editor programs I save my edited file only to find that it's absolutely NO smaller in size once I'm done. I just don't understand.

Could be that the image is already compressed...? Not sure. I don't know too much about this stuff, just the basics.

You have to bump the dimensions down. Try entering in 80 and see what happens.

Also in Ofotonow I can "view" the image compressed or zoomed out but when I go to save it...it always gives it as the same pixel size.

sent you the image....bump the dimensions down??? I never ever saw a tool that let me do that.

HOLY!!! DOH! I think I did it...Mikhail's did have a pixel size editor..I didn't even notice it at first...I'm soo frustrated and such a *******...thx for helping this n00b along
