    Coaxial Cable Splitters

    which one do i need?
i have Optimum Online as a provider, they gave me some 5-1000mHz -3.5 dB out on both legs. is that good?
I keep on losing my signal and my friends have told me to get a new splitter, so which one should i get?

The first thing to do is figure out what the problem is.

Do all the lights on your modem stay on?

    What modem is it?

OK, there is a problem that the cable company needs to address. You can try removing a splitter, but it is unlikely to fix it. The downstream signal is at the low limit, and the upstream at the high. Best bet is to have the cable company come out and ifx it.

Yeah dude....your modem is maxed out on transmit and your downstream receive is screwed up too. You've got cable problems at your residence.

yeah your 2db short on the upstream from discoing from the system and your right on the threshold of the downstream. removing a spliter will bring your upstream down to about 55 and raise your down stream to about -11to-12db. but it sounds if your wireing is bad at your house or the system levels dropped either way you need a tech.
