    Slow Cable!

Hey i need to know what i can do to make my modem faster
it ust to run fast but now its just realy damn slow hehe..
well i run Windows Me It Says i go Fast but seems unbarebly slow please help me =)

    TCP options string = 020405b40103030401010402

    MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

    MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 747232
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 4 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 46702
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
    64240 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product:
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 29889.28 kbps (3736.16 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 11955.712 kbps (1494.464 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 23 hops
    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

    ** Speed 1863(down)/114(up) kbps **
(At least 37 times faster than a 56k modem)
    Finish.

Your settings look good... other than that's a pretty high/big RWIN number you've got. Any reason you picked such a big one?

What does your provider say you should be getting for up/down rates? Maybe you're already near your caps (which would be a shame).
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Rejoice! My test says "bout the 4 times faster..." on a 500 rated line.

I am going to assume that you have Cablenut installed, if not, post and I will post a link to it. Open up the adjuster, and put 1 in besides TCP1323Opts. Save registry, and reboot.

Why can't you post the link with your current post? Wouldn't it be easier for him?

I don't see the link in your reply..

It's 1 in the morning and I have Jazz band at 6, and I still have 4 pages of Science to go through.

Why should I link it? I wasn't the one who decided to help him. It was you... if this is some way of smapping more to get your post count up, I feel sorry for you. Next time just try to post as much info into one post as possible... For example:

If someone needs help... Don't reply with one question/suggestion... You reply with as much as possible. If you ask for Connection type, tell him to download Cablenut in the same post. This way, he gets helped quicker, understand?

If those are your caps, then that RWIN is WAYYYYY too huge.

Try 29200 and set Tcp1323Opts to 0. Reboot for changes to take affect.
