    will this powersupply be enough?

I'm building a computer for someone else. I have the 300watt power supply that came with my ability wholesale server tower. Previously, I had intended to put a duron800 in the computer. However, he seems very interested in having a 1.4 in there now.

The computer will also carry the wieght of the following:
    40gig HD
    512megs
semi decent cpu fan... not an overclocker
    burner
    cdrom
    nic
    2 80mm's
    floppy.

I would strongly perfer not to buy another power supply, they are expensive. However, what are my real risks that the system will be unstable?

    Well

I personally have had problems with a 1.4ghz T-bird and my 300W AMD approved psu, but then again I have a alot of extra stuff in my box. I usually recommend 350W as the minimum, but you should be fine.

it should work but remember it is always better to have more than less obviously. Also you may ant to ask this person if and how much hardware they may add in the future and take that into account. Besides power supplies are not that expensive.
