    TCP/IP Analyzer help

My computer is on a network so the ip address speednet detected is not the correct one. I want to use the TCP/IP analyzer, is there anyway I can get the correct result from my ip address?

This is what I got from the ip address speednet detected:

    TCP options string = 020405b4010303000101080a0055eaa700000000

    MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

    MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1448, which is less than MSS because of Timestamps, or other TCP/IP options used.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 32768
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 32768
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
    64240 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product:
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1310.72 kbps (163.84 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 524.288 kbps (65.536 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 55 hops
    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = OFF

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

I used cablenut to change the RWIN setting already, but it didn't show up even though I rebooted a few times.

    I'm using win2k, P4 1.8G with 256rdram.

well if you are on a network then it really doesn't matter what you tweak to.
See, with you going through a server, it has total control over what happens and at what speed.

You can never make a machine go faster than the server. Tweak it then tweak then one you are on now.

oh... so there's no way I can speed up my cable connection???

    It's getting kinda slow... only around 500 down / 150 up. =(

    ok

    wait a minute

are you talking about something like roadrunner or @home?

if that is the network you are referring to then hell yeah we can speed you up

but if you have a network that you are directly connected to then we need to tweak the server first

so please elaoborate on your network

Hmm... I'm using shaw@home right now, and have 2 computers networked together using linksys router, does that mean I'm on a network???

well yes it does, but you are using a router, so we can tweak you as long as both computers get the signal from the router

    it is easy well relatively
