connection can you confirm my understanding...?

hi m8 i have been informed by my cable provider that my connection is 512k also i have learned through other sources that it is capped at 600kdown and 128k up therefore can you tell me if these settings are ok and is there anything i can do to optimise my connection? thankyou.
