VIA KT266A PREview (I think you will want to see this ;)

Via just improved their DDR memory performance, by a lot, in the VIA KT266a chipset, the "enhanced" or "new" KT266 chipset, notice the "a" at the end denoting the difference...

check this out, read it all carefully

    http://www.hardocp.com/reviews/chipsets/kt266a/

    here's another one:

LOL...no biggie. I was excited when I read them reviews also.

Quite a bit of difference in a lot of tests.

John, I wouldn't worry about it though. I'd let a few others test this new chipset. It's not like VIA has THAT great a reputation for getting it right the first time. LOL

the KT266 is already there and proven, this is just a BETTER enhanced version of that already proven chipset

so far in all these reviews seems to work great

    be more positive!

I love via right now, from their KT133A and UP things lookin good from them

the KT266A is refering to the northbridge on the motherboard

and so far it's looking like mem bandwidth IS better then the AMD 760, so far it's looking supperior

of course Abit and Asus and MSI etc.. will make boards based on it, might be a couple of months though before we see any....

    the call is yours

Technology moves at a lightning speed

    it's never going to stop

by October it will be NVIDIA Crush Madness, by Christmas there will be the KT266A, Crush, and AMD's 761 leading the pak on the Socket A DDR front....

it will never stop, there will always be something else down the road

Crush is a chipset from NVidia with on-board video, sound, NIC, modem. The SiS735 was pretty good and beat the AMD 760 but it just got beaten by the KT266a. However, both ALi and SiS are making new revisions of their chipsets, like Via did.

I havn't seen any evidence of crush going to blow away the competitors.

Can anyone point me to some benchmarks?
