    Question Mouse problems after boot

    Hello Speedguiders.

I have an annoying little problem that I can't seem to rectify:
When I reboot my computer, I have to go into my mouse settings and reset the mouse speed, because for some reason it resets to the slowest setting! I figured it was because I messed with my startup progs in msconfig - maybe I removed the mouse driver from startup accidentally, but I can't seem to find it anywhere

Anyone know what driver I have to enable? Also, in the System tray (bottom right corner) during Windows startup it shows a mouse graphic as if it was loading, then it disappears, and this is when it resets to slowest.

man its hard explaining some of these little problems!!!!

    Thanks in advance

Try re-installing the software for your mouse.

Uninstall the mouse drivers and let windows use it's default driver. That worked for me!

Depending on what mouse you have, it seems to be better to let the default mouse driver from windows do it's own thing. Don't know why that is, but it works best for me.

Crump, you beat me to it. Sorry, I had to add to it!

Microsoft intellimouse (with the four buttons)

If you do let windows use the default mouse drivers, try not to spend to much on a mouse with extra buttons that you cannot use!

    Thanks for the reply, guys.....

The mouse is a Logitech MouseMan wheel. I'll try re-installing the drivers tonight, but I don't want to completely uninstall them as this mouse has special dials on it that would probably be disabled if I used the Windows drivers.

I'll post again later - again, thanks for the suggestions
