IE acting odd

Today I opened about 25 explorer windows at once. Don't ask why I just did. Anyways when I click on a link it puts it in a tiny bar that usually hides near the top of the screen. Used to it would open the link in a hal-sized window. Also after a shutdown and rebooted my link in the start menu did the same thing. I fixed the start menu, set it to maximize. I have repaired IE already and it is still doing the tiny link thing. Any ideas?

no too sure what ya mean by "tiny link"? explain the prpoblem a bit more clearly

Used to when I opened a link, the link would come up in a half-screen window, now its just a tiny bar, with the minimize, maximize, and close buttons. No real-estate at all. Did this after I got an "out of memory" error in IE. That help?

Make sure when you close an IE window that it's in the Maximized position, then after all IE's are closed in this Maximum Position restart your pc, otherwise take a screenshot maybe of your problem

Thats how all links come up in IE now, except for the first window.

When you open an Internet Explorer window, it retains and opens in the state/size of the last Internet Explorer window that you closed/exited. By designed default an entry is placed in registry to produce what is considered to be one of those "NEW FEATURES". You must constantly be aware of this behavior and make a mental note to yourself to close a window in the state you want it to reopen in.
Sometimes your preference is over-riden, in a manner of speaking....:
When clicking on a link includied within a site some websites design their links to open in smaller windows. It has nothing to do with IE, but is controled by the jscript or html of the site. There also a work around for this: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q211/0/68.ASP

In addition make sure all the shortcuts you may use to open a IE session is set via a right click "properties">"run" dropdown box [set window size to normal or maximized and not minimized].


Sometimes Internet Explorer 5 "decides" to remember the wrong size for a new window. Whatever you do, you can't seem to get it to remember a normal size.
Close all instances of Internet Explorer
Start the Registry Editor
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main
Delete the value Window_Placement
Exit the Registry Editor
