T1 Speed Problems

I am having alot trouble with my T1 connection. Its very inconsistent. Sometimes its smokin and other times its barely alive. I cant find any activity on the LAN that would be causing this. It is an Athlon 800 256MB and it runs a email, ftp, and proxy server. Any help is greatly appreciated

Do you lose connection alot? T1's suffer from a condition known as "flapping", this is when the line goes up and down many times. If your having problems with the speed itself then there may be something with the line and may need phone company to check it out our your ISP.

Since you have a T-1 then you are likely leasing it (or your business) from a local TELCO. Call them and tell them the problem and ask them to bring the T-BERD's out and put them on the line. They can stress test the baby for 24 hours and that will show if there is any problem with the T-1 line. You might also consider that your provider is likely oversubscribing their bandwidth...
