Lightbulb xp security policy changed need restore....

    Hi

I have a home computer running xp as admin but like my user name here i messed with the security policy which has locked me out of some major services that stopped working mainly everything to do with connecting to the internet...computer browser etc. Restore does not work blank page even in safe mode.

I have restore files but i need a way for them to load in a different than usual way like some sort of bat file to point to them while xp is loading. or total dos way of loading restore but not through command prompt window in xp.

So this is for the major enthusiast that would know away round this problem.

Total lock out to component services, cannot right click into any service, do not have internet browser access

    YES... i am Da- Numpty!!!

    Thanks for ideas

The registry backup files are in the snapshot folder.
Slave the drive to another computer and copy them over via Windows Explorer..you'll have to take ownership of that hidden snapshot folder.
Or boot from a utility disk like Hirens.

    sorry for late reply

I`ve just booted up the machine and for some reason it only shows the last saved day in restore which is the same day of the problem.

I`m wondering is there a way as admin in the registery or somehow to get access rights back on all services without using the problems from first post. as in running a default rights batch bat file to service rights while as admin.

I can login as default admin in safe mode if this helps

    Thanks
