    add an additional router?

Today I just upgraded my FIOS speed from 20/15 to 50/25. I decided to run a speediest and noticed the speed barley reaches 25mbps when using wifi, so I went a head and retook the test with wired connection and speeds went over 50. Now my question is, is there anyway I would be able to setup an additional router in my room upstairs (the main router is directly one room over downstairs from me.) that I would be able to use as both a wire and a wireless connection? I'm not to educated with this type of stuff so if anyone could help I'd really appreciate!

if this is too complicated are there any other suggestions on improving my download speeds? I'm using a Macbook pro

Depends on your current wireless router... As already metioned, simultaneous dual band N or AC with gigabit ports would be the only thing to touch 50+ Mbps throughput imho.

so would this do the job? (seeing as it's prob my best bet at purchasing another router, since I need action tech for the TV series to still work.)

Without doing a wireless site survey....and not knowing what your existing router is.....it would be my first approach.

You'll never see 50 mbps wifi if your comp's wifi adapter is 80211g. You'll be lucky to get 50 mbps even if you have an 80211n adapter.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.

that's what I thought which is why I asked if adding another router in a separate room would be possible with Fios service
