    Thumbs up Happy Canada Day

    To my Canadian friends

    I hope you enjoy the day as well as the long weekend holiday.

    For my American & Other Friends Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st across the country. July 1st marks the anniversary of the formation of the union of the British North America provinces in a federation under the name of Canada - that's the technical explanation, but Canada Day also means fireworks and the year's biggest national party. The Canada Day holiday is akin to the U.S. July 4th celebration but on a more Canadian scale.

    Not so big for me anymore. The ball and chain and I will cook up some ribs and whatever and probably be in bed by 9pm, if my neighbors haven't bought any fireworks. If they have, we'll be lucky to be able to sleep at midnight.
