    How to increase network speed???

I work in an office of around 200 network users.
The connection from my laptop to the network is 1 gigabit. The HP Switch to which it is conected is also 1 gigabit. One of the servers connected to the switch is also 1 gigabit.

When I copy a file from my machine to the server the maximum speed I get is around 110 MB/s...

Since I have a gigabit network, why does the copy happen at 110 MB/s???

Do I need to do any modifications on the TCP settings or NIC Card settings???

    Help is highly appreciated...

    Regards,

    ShiShiR

That's pretty darn good! Theoretical max is 125 MB.
80-90 megs is still quite good and realistic for a larger network with many users sharing a server even if it's a server with fast 15k SAS disks.

Note the transfer speed we're talking about....125 MB...capital B..as in Bytes.
Not lower case b as it bits...
    1 gigabit network = 1000 megabit network = 125 megaBYTES
    8 bits to a byte.

    Hello Every One !!!!
That's really good! Theoretical max is 125 MB. 80-90 megs is still quite amazing and genuine for a bigger system with many customers referring to a web variety web host hosting server even if it's a web variety web host hosting server with quick 15k SAS drives. so I wasn't even considering.
