I do not expect them to beat the Rangers, but at least they are making it interesting.

    Hi David

My choices this year have sucked David. All my picks are gone. Vancouver, Boston, Pittsburgh & then Philly so i am really at a loss here. I think L. A. should be the overall winner but as to the Rangers & NJ I'm beginning to think NJ may actually have the edge now.

I hate the Rangers style with all the shot blocking, its worse than the trap imho and exposes the players to unjustified injuries. Who needs to take a $10 Million dollar player and have him blocking shots for goodness sake. Try explaining that loss due to injury in that situation should it occur.

I think the Rangers are slowing down as they shorten their lines too much & play the hell out of their stars.

It will be interesting to see how the best of 3 goes.

The officiating this playoffs has been very bad as it was most of the season. Too many of the old Refs have hung up the skates and the new order is really not up to the task imho. Overall it usually evens out call wise but it still leaves an awful lot open to discussion.

Good Luck to you & NJ

    --

    regards

    Larry,

I would have thought Vancouver and Boston as well. Philadelphia has a fine team, however NJ found their weaknesses and pounded them. The glaring one being their overpriced suet-block goalie. The Penguins are like the Washington Nationals in baseball, they had been bad for so long, they collected a substantial load of early first round picks. Unfortunately, they couldn't get past the officiating.

Neither NJ nor LA belong, yet they are peaking at the right time. I am not certain if it is enough to get passed the loathsome blue shirts, but it will make for a great finals.

    peace be with you,

I must agree with all you have said David.

One thing still rings in my ear, that being my Mom likes NJ. She thinks they have a very good chance of not only pulling this one out but Winning the Big One as well.

The Old Girl knows her hockey so i never bet against her however unlikely it may seem.

She'll be 94 in a couple of weeks and never misses a game.

Have a great week David & I hope all is well with you & yours

    Bless her heart!

Annoying is the presumption that this will be Zac Parise's last season as a Devil. SI and the NY papers have mentioned it a number of times, as though to dishearten NJ fans.

So... let's watch our former captain, and favorite defensiveman.

As to Zach Parise he is on many a list. I know Toronto has an interest in him as do several others. He can name his terms & pick his spot if he decides to leave New Jersey. Below is just one example.

    L. A. is now resting and awaiting the outcome. Everything seems to be going their way.

How great is a game when the teams clearly despise each other?

The Devils can still blow it. A fourth cup would cement Brodeur's legend status, and I am clearly cheering them on. Still, I wouldn't mind too much to see a long time Cup-less team like LA get a championship.

As a fan, I take comfort in the misery of the Rangers.

    Morning David

Nothing is a given here David but NJ has 2 to win 1 so the odds definitely lay with them. As to Brodeur i thought he looked tired last night and in several cases it was more good luck than good play that saved the day for him. Being the competitor he is he will no doubt summon up the energy to steal one for NJ.

As to L. A. the odds are very much on their side with all the rest they are enjoying and due to their excellent play they have not exhausted themselves by getting in & out of each series quickly.

Will be interesting before its over.

A fine morning to you as well, Larry.

I agree, Brodreur is looking tired in the third. No doubt the reason why the Rangers are still in this match.

I am a little hoarse at the moment.

It is difficult to enjoy a home game victory when the announcers are clearly for the opposing team. Such is the plight of a NJ fan.

The overtime was a nail biter.

    Please tell mom... cheers!
