Hi,
I have charter internet and my speed is rated at 100 meg.
I have a wireless router connected to the modem. When I connect via an Ethernet cable to my laptop I can get download speed approaching 90+meg(speedtest.net) which I am fine with.
However when I connect wirelessly(probably not a word) the best I can connect at is 18 or 19 meg.
I understand that there would be a speed loss with wireless but I think this is not right.
I have nothing blocking the path between laptop and router and the distance is only 10 feet.
Is there some kind of "governor" on my laptop hindering faster wireless speeds?
I'm running a 3 year old Compaq Presario laptop with vista 64 bit.
Thanks for any thoughts or advice and your time.
Craig
