It does. Been using it in the beta form cause you told me too.![]()
wow i was on version 2. something, thanks for the update![]()
This version is supposed to be lighter on resources, but I'm not seeing it.
I had a couple of boxes on version 2.x as Mark.. however, the definitions were current. I wonder why the client doesn't update itself with Windows Update now.
I meant the AV client version itself, as in the "Help > About" dialog.
I had to update mine manually, I was using the YOSC beta version.![]()
Its in windows update but its an optional item not an important item.
I usually update all the optional items (manually) as well, I'm pretty sure there were no outstanding optional/important updates and the MSE version was still 2.x .. strange.
Oh well, it's been updated to the latest now.
Was there a version 3? I seemed to have missed something.![]()
To confirm, I just looked at another Windows 7 Professional machine with SP1 and all important and optional updates installed, MSE is version 2.x (the program), definitions are the newest (from 5/2/2012). It used Windows Update (not Microsoft Update with all other MS software), that may be culprit eventually. Still, seems MSE update in the program itself does not detect its own newer version.
I have my gaming rig at home sitting in my home office running 24x7...I have not sat down at it for over a week, it's just been running. Played a little Quake Live this morning....before launching it, I fired up MSE to check the version. Was at 4.0.1526. So she auto installed all by herself. Win7.
