George Zimmerman buys $79.84 worth of items from jail store

George Zimmerman is cooling his heals in jail, where he recently purchased a collection of items from the Seminole County jail store to help pass the time.

The Miami Herald recently tweeted a photo of a receipt from Zimmerman's $79.84 purchases that included playing cards, puzzle books, and Jolly Rancher candy.

Zimmerman also bought socks, a debit card for phone calls, Ivory soap, underwear, beef sticks, t-shirts, deodorant, chocolate cookies, and one orange. The purchase left $41.36 on Zimmerman's account.

I know what you mean. I consider about 90% of what is supposed to be news to be laughable. I refuse to watch local new at all. A total waste of time.

If they are going to report something about him, how about the actual, live court proceedings? Unless they do, I will not feel he got a fair trial.

I want to hear some facts myself. I would have loved to see the case before the Grand Jury. Perhaps there wasn't even enough evidence to indict, so that's why it was bypassed.

I totally agree with you and Easto, the news nowadays feels too much like a talk show, or a soap opera to be useful - I want the facts, not interested in listening to the opinions of five self-proclaimed pseudo-experts for an hour so they can stuff 20 minutes of commercials in there.

We can argue the racial divides that existed in the youth of these gentlemen are no longer. The internet..... the internet in its coarse, unexpurgated manner, has aired our private thoughts for all to see. Racism is alive and well. The question remains, do people act upon their sentiments.
I once argued the other side, however it is painfully obvious that a culture of self destruction lurks in the parts of the black community. Pounding one's chest in adolescent fervor is expected, but overplaying the teen bad ass is often a preparation for disaster.
