Two internet lines and 1 LAN what am I accomplishing here?

I have two separate internet lines with a gateway on each one. I have all the users pc's pointing to one and all the servers pointing to the other. The user gateway has all sorts of firewall, spam block, virus block (Untangle in short) on it. The server line has NAT and firewall. Is the internet bandwidth for the servers truly isolated? I know the LAN traffic is all mashed together. Of course if only 1 internet line failed I could switch over to the other one (not very efficiently though). What are the good things about this setup. Does anyone have any suggestions on changes that would make this network faster and/or more secure?

Since you have Untangle...you don't have to go through the different gateway approach..use the multi-WAN and balancer/failover.

Well, I use everything free on the Untangle server. I don't use the pay stuff. Most stuff I use is free/OSS (pretty much everything except office and windows).

I assume your using your own AS number, how are you taking routes from each ISP? Are you taking a full bgp table, or partial routes and a default route?
Are the speeds of the lines the same?
Are the lines from the same ISP?
Have you checked any of the internet routing tables (like on AT & T's routers) to see how your AS_PATH is reflected on the global bgp table?

Without any of this, you might be load balancing outbound, but you could have some pretty big asymmetric routing going on inbound.
