So I purchased a few VPNs (Canada) to compare quality, and unfortunately the best speeds are coming from a OpenVPN type connection, and that is the worst/unacceptable option for me.
The VPN I would like to prioritize on getting working in acceptable fashion is a PPTP. Mainly because it gives my a "Rogers" IP, and won't give me any issues with the services I need it for. But with speeds of Download :: 727 Kbps 91 kB/s Upload :: 425 Kbps 53 kB/s its a difference from Upload :: 9.64 Mbps 1.2 MB/s Download :: 26.33 Mbps 3.29 MB/s![]()
I knew the speeds were going to differ, but I didn't think this much.
Another VPN I am trying, using OpenVPN is giving great speeds, but undesirable IP details, and server location is nto always broadcasting from the same location. Unfortunately, because the speeds are awesome.
I set this up using Windows dialer, assuming this is the only way on Win7? Aside from basic setup, and inputting default info, I have not made any adjustments. Can I optimize this connection, and if so, how?
Cliffs:
-$75 / month for VPN
- ~600 Miles from VPN Server
- New to VPN Connections and not sure if the speeds are actually normal.
I appreciate any input and advice in advance.
