So I've got an issue. I live on top of a dentist office, they let me use their wireless internet. I play games (most recently dota2) and used to have no problem with my computer until I moved here. I'm getting some slight, but noticable, lag while I play. I'm not plugged in, and am using a USB Wireless it is this guy: Model TP-LINK 150Mbps Wireless Lite N Adapter.
BASICALLY I was wondering if you all could help me decide what to do to boost my speed. When i do the speedtest.net i'm consistently ~4 down and ~1 up.
I want to ask if I can hardwire into the router but this seems to be out of the question as I am on the 3rd floor of an apt and the router is the bottom floor inside a dentists office. Could getting a PCI wireless card instead of the USB one I have now help? I've done some research and it looks like people are kind of split on either one being better, but it seems like PCI ones are better but not by much.
I also used the inSSIDer thing to check and see if it wasn't some stuff going on the wireless signal and it looks like there is another wireless router that is close and their router and the dentists are both on channel 11 (but it says that the dentists wireless network is 11+7???)
Could I ask them to change their channel on their wireless router as it seems from inSSIDer that channels 2-5 are wide open? Are there other things that I could do that I am missing?
This is driving me insane looking all over the internet and if there is one thing that I have realized it is that I know so little!!

PS i used ipconfig to try to find out if my ipadress was the same as this one but which one should I be looking at? ipv6 address? its all weird like not in XXX.XXX.XX.XX format...might be information for another post though
