    New Wireless Router

    Hello everyone,

I just bought a new wireless router, which has wireless N .. I have some questions i'm sure more folks on here will know immediatly.. but I am a newbie so please bear with me.

1 - My laptop has wireless N and does not appear to connect N "not draft N" always connects at G been told this is incomplatible
Any ideas what I can do? I checked the encrption and channels

2 - I was told to use a wired network for better speed "gigabit", does this mean the cables that come with my router are not gigabit? are there special ethernet cables ??

    Thank You

I would double check your security settings on the wireless router....make sure you're using WPA2 AES.
Ensure the router has the latest firmware
Ensure your computers wireless NIC has the latest drivers

Without knowing the make/model of your wireless router...and not having its documentation in front of me to read....I have no idea if the ethernet ports on it are 100 meg or gigabit.

I have also purchased a new wireless router. The range between the distance is near about the 50 to 60 yards. It is very effective and gives a good network support & network speed is also good.
