    Lightbulb Connecting two computers to LAN internet

    We have a LAN in which computers have an IP like this 192.168.xxx.xxx, and each computer has internet access.
    I have a pc in that network and I bought another one and I would like to connect it to internet too (using the same network)
    How do I do that?

    Also, I dont know if LAN admins allocate one IP per home based on MAC address and I dont want to ask
    So, can I connect to my IP address 192.169.xxx.1, two computer for internet access?
    Please advise me how to connect my second pc to internet using a switch. Is it possible?

    Actual situation:
    Internet provider-----LAN------> (192.169.xxx.1) First computer

    Would be possible a connection like this? And what are the settings for that:
    Internet provider------LAN----> (192.169.xxx.1) Switch________> First computer
    .....................................................................|
    .................................................................... |___________> Second computer

    (sorry for points, I cant add to many spaces to my diagram)

    Uh...so this is not your home network..but this is an office/business/school network or something? You have to ask, like it or not.
    Based on the class C subnet you're describing, they probably already have a router in place..or something doing DHCP. Taking it upon yourself to go get a router and add it yourself to a network that you are not in charge of...is a bad idea. Since this sounds like it's not your own property to begin with...taking it upon yourself to do something like this could (and should) lead to disciplinary action. Are you going to take 100% responsibility/accountability for the security of this network..if you do something like this to bypass the security of it? And what if you improperly connect something..and cause problems on the network..and loss of functionality for other workers...are you going to own up to that?

    Oh my!
    Well, YeOldeStonecat to answer to your questions.. it is a small neighborhood network.
    I disslike that some internet providers put restrictions..
    Meaning that I've paid for the connection, for getting it to my house and from my door, in my all house, I can share it even to my freezer if it will be possible
    And, yes, I'll take responsibility for all pc in my house.

    So? ISP---> cable modem/dsl modem?---> PC?

    If this is the case and neither modem has a built in router then you'll need to get one to connect multiple PC's/devices.

    No,no no cable/dsl modem..

    ISP--->(utp cable from a black box outside of my house)-----> PC (192.168.x.x)
    I think this is an IP range belonging to LAN, and i can see other computers near me, and have access to internet.

    You're on a class C subnet...192.168.xxx.xxx...so you're behind a small consumer router at one point or another if you can see other computers near you. Sounds like a really small ISP...dealing with just a neighborhood? A WISP?
