New high performance Asus router coming out, RT-66U Black Knight

Been catching wind of an upcoming super fast router....the Asus RT-66U.
Currently their RT-N56U has been the fastest router tested at smallnetbuilder....at over 800 megs throughput.

The new RT-66U has a 600MHz processor, and 1 gig of RAM. State table size (concurrent sessions) at over 300,000.

Supposed to be based on the Broadcom chipset......so it'll probably support DD-WRT...but to be honest, I saw some screenies of the Asus firmware for this unit...and holy crap what cool features.
    Asus put up the emulator

Sounds great with the CPU/RAM... Please let me know if you find manuals or any other info that can be added here: http://www.speedguide.net/routers/as...it-router-2287

Their current top model, the rt n56u, started out around 165-170 when it first came out....since it was pretty much the fastest consumer grade router out there, over 800 megs of throughput. It's not settled to around 135-140. Guessing the 66u will be around 170 when it comes out.

Well, I guess that the newer router would be a pretty good investment for the price. Hopefully it's a little cheaper though. I REALLY want this bad boy.

Meh. I'll wait for Newegg then. Should be cheaper.

Seems the media hype was being typical...and overhyping things. That vr-zone link above shows they got more recent info on it..dropped to 256 megs..and now rumored at 128 megs..makes it nothing extra special now. Hmpfff.
The web admin is still wicked cool, and I'm sure it will still be crazy fast.

Seems like a great router even with 256Mb of RAM... At least Asus still uses detacheable antennas that can be upgraded easily.
