Design of Wireless Network in a luxury hotel

Farhan International is a luxury hotel situated on 20 acres with beautifully landscaped gardens near the airport in the capital city of Oman. It offers an ideal accommodation for business and leisure travellers. It provides an array of business and family, friendly amenities and services on site with 24 hour business center, children’s play area, concierge services, fitness center, swimming pools, laundry facilities, miniature golf course, and sand volleyball courts.
The hotel consists of 100 rooms, each with 40 X 20 feet size in two parallel buildings. Each building has two floors. Reception and administrative office are connecting these two buildings. The hotel is running with free high speed internet for the customers. There are 3 meeting hall in 7500 square feet each with flexible conference space which can accommodate 250 guests. The meeting hall is facilitated with necessary consumer electronics and high speed internet access for delegates.
The hotel management is now decided to upgrade the existing network with high speed wireless internet. They need the wireless connectivity in all the rooms, conference hall, power utility rooms, swimming pools and all over the campus.
As a network professional, you are assigned to design and implement the wireless connectivity in the hotel. The following design consideration would be taken for completing the task effectively.
 Internet access must be provided to all travellers and guests who are boarding in the hotel.

 Indoor play area, swimming pool and building should connect with each other.
 Provide seamless roaming and Quality of service to support voice, video and data services.
 Delivering high throughput while avoiding problems due to radio frequency interference from airport signals.
Assignment Tasks
 Explain the kind of devices you will select for installation of wireless network in the hotel landscape. Specify the reason for selecting the particular device. (5 marks)
 Determine the number and placement of different network devices that provides adequate signal coverage throughout the entire hotel area. You may consider the following:
a. Provide a brief description and objectives of the assignment.
b. Perform site survey and determine the access point locations for every floor in the building and the outdoor location for the entire hotel area by studying the features (e.g. the range between devices and the access point, technology implemented like 802.11g or 802.11n, attenuation factors, the coverage areas required, security, access for different users).
c. Provide a separate wireless network to the guests/travellers and employees.
d. Discuss about the security threats and how will you protect the Wi-Fi network inside the hotel premises.
e. Prepare a diagram showing the wireless network proposed for the given scenario as per the requirements.

I know this needs to be answered within a group, but this assignment is individually. At least determine the devices I have to select for this project.

The basic thing for creating a wireless network at any where is to check the place properly wherever you want to create the wireless network. You should secure the place and prevent the network site so that any problems can be avoided. The same rules are applied in any luxurious hotel.
