Need some advice

Hello my name is John and I was checking on google for anything about fixing modems which led me to this website. My 2Wire 1800HG has been acting up for a good 2 weeks. The Broadband link has been flashing orange every 10 mins and I have noticed that my signal strength has been going from very good to low constantly. I usually get 100 mbps with direct connection and 56 mbps with the wireless connection and both has been very very low like from 32-1 mbps. I have tried to reset the modem countless times and it did not fix it. I believe the modem is about 4 years old and possibly older, I never changed the modem and I never had any problem with it. I am not sure if the modem is going bad or the ISP is not working properly. If anyone has any advice on what to do or how to fix it I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.
