My color is washed out

I tried installing new drivers, went from 11.2 to 11.3. it looks like I’m set too low, like 8 bit color. I can set the resolution and color though. I’m set at 1920X1080 and 32 bit color but I’m still all washed out.

While checking my settings it reminds me that my brightness is too high, but it isn’t.

I sure hope my video card isn’t broken.

yeah video card is screwed up.. replaced one the other day for the same reason for someone

I've seen this happen when windows update drivers go in over the manufacturer drivers....very often actually.
Go download the latest drivers for your card from the manufacturers site, uninstall any/all drivers you see in Add/Remove, reboot..and then install the latest.

I can’t run Windows Update either, I made sure the services listed are running too.

I don’t know how or if they are related but that’s a problem too.

I said I wasn’t going to build any more PC’s but I’ve had too odd problems with this one.

I haven’t been keeping up with hardware, what’s the best mobo and processor combo out there and what OS should I use?

Man, I hate giving up on the stuff I have, I might go Dell, let them deal with the problems that pop up.

Lots of current malware will disable Windows Update it, and the fix requires doing more than just restarting the two services....it will actually remove one of the services. Microsoft released a "Fixit" for fixing Microsoft Updates, works quite well. I don't have the KB for it at home, will find it at work and post it.

what card is it?? is it getting real hot? I mean I replaced a card the other day that was having this exact issue as it was going bad. It happens.

My color is OK for games now but it’s still washed out for the desktop, Internet and programs like Word.

That’s the final straw. I’m looking for a new mobo, processor combo.
I said I wouldn’t build any more PC’s but this combo has too many weird problems. This is some good s**t too.

maybe try a driver cleaner program and reinstall drivers

I booted this morning and the color and resolution is fine. This sometimes broken problem is driving me nuts, still can’t run Windows Update.

God, I hate intermittent problems. That’s it, I’m saving up some cash and building a new PC. Hopefully one without gremlins.

I updated to the 11.4’s no color problems since. My Catalyst Control Center reports that my card is running at 41C.

I don’t think that is too hot, is it?

lol 11.5 is out now, just make sure you get the updated version of it or get the hotfix 11.5a to go with it. As for temps.. well it depends but that sounds fine. My 570 super clocked is running idle at 49c with a fan speed of 42% or 1560RPM's which is normal. Playing Crysis 2 it will crank up to 90c

Glad the driver update worked for ya. Your temp is totally fine...you have plenty of headroom to get her hot.

As long as it’s working I’m not updating anything. It looks great, it works fine, no need to update.
