Transferring pst from outlook 2007 (pc) to Mac outlook 2011 TROUBLE

Hey guys switching my wife work computer from pc to mac, I have copied the pst file from the old outlook and have imported them to the new 2011 mac outlook ( yes it is the ms outlook). everything comes over the calendar the contacts, the todo stuff....but no emails....WTF???? any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I have not transferred Outlook data from PC to CrApple.....and I see that the new Outlook in Office 2010 for Mac now supports importing from PSTs.
What if you run over the import process again..and instead of highlighting the personal folders at the top of the tree...just highlight in the inbox and the source..and destination..(and put checkmark for sub folders)....and import the inbox only?

And make sure she doesn't have any rules for filtering (like...show only NEW e-mails or something like that).

Does the Outlook for Mac have the same choice of "Folder List" view? It's not on by default, so I always hit that when setting up Outlook for people.

Thanks stoneacat... Yeah that is what I am trying now, the file is just to big i guess.... But now outlook is taking for ever to export just the inbox it has been about 1.5 hours right now, I am wonder ing if I should have entered into safe mode do to this... would it have transferred faster do you think......also this is a small msi wind pc so it is slow to begin with ( never again) ..... My wife was suppost to be using her email at 8:30 boy am I in trouble..

Is this coming from an Outlook to Exchange setup? Or POP3?

You can just grab her old PST and copy it to a thumb drive or something...instead of doing the "export" process. That will cut your steps (and time) in 1/2.

I tried that it looked like it ws importing but then only got cetain emails and not all of them.... what a pain in the arse

Nothing I can think of comes to mind...perhaps the import function is still being de-bugged?
Found this thread..which states there's a problem importing e-mail from a PST which previously had e-mails imported from Outlook express.

Got it, somebody either MS or apple cant handle very large files , 1 GB or bigger.... when i broke it down to smaller file there was no problem at all getting it over and imported

Ahh cool. It must be the Apple version of Outlook that can't handle larger PSTs..I've migrated PST waaaaay larger than 1 gig before.

I recently imported very large Windows Outlook 2007 pst files into MAC Outlook. I ran into similar issues as you. The solution for me was:

0. uninstall MAC Office 2011.

1. install Office 2011 on the MAC.

2. install all 3 MAC Outlook updates available from MS in this order:

• Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 Service Pack 1 (14.1.0
• Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 14.2.3 Update
• Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 14.2.4 Update

3. import the pst no glitches.

One of the updates fixes importing errors.
