Thanks Humboldt I'm pretty happy with that one myself Haven't seen any new pics from you lately?

Just had my sister visit for a few days and haven't been spending as much time with the new camera. Have to work one of my days off this weekend as well

Still coping with a nasty break-up also so I'm a bit flakey as far as motivation goes.

You should have drafted your sister as your photography subject That's what I'm doing with my bf. "Wave your arms around fast while I take this pic- I want to see if I have the shutter speed fast enough to freeze movement"

I'm sorry to hear about the breakup. Time heals and all that, tthough I know it's never believable at the time. Keep yourself busy, and you'll feel better soon <3

Took a bunch of pictures while she was here but was just starting to mess with shutter speed and aperture and figuring out how to turn the damn flash off

Love the motion on the latest bridge shot btw That and the blue are awesome.

Time heals? Sometimes, lately it's more that it dulls but doesn't heal. Different thread.

Thanks I'm pretty happy with the bridge shot myself. I'm definitely getting more used to the camera, venturing out of the green box more, too.

I honestly have no idea what that means. *is baffled*. "Is that you 2x?" I don't get it. Is what me? And "2x"? I'm confused...

PS - most of the shots were auto, cos they were outdoors in good light, so I figured I didnt need to mess around. Some of my lion shots are overexposed though, so that's obviously not the case. The frog shot was taken indoors in program mode - ISO 1600 I think, no flash of course. I'm venturing more and more out of the green box, but I wouldn't really say I have the hang of it yet. Just ordered a guide to the T1i on Amazon, am hhoping it'll help me out. That online one I dled for free wasn't really much help.

PPS - you should return your camera and get a T1i. Video mode is hella fun

I was kidding, hence the "". Although I posted the links to my photos from the zoo, not the photo of me... It's true that I shouldn't put up anything I don't want the public to see, but to be honest I uploaded that pic for a friend and just didn't think about it after that. It never occured to me "oh I better take it down in case I post a pic from the zoo and someone decides to click through and go through all my photos". *shrugs*

Anyway, I am LOVING my Nifty Fifty Everyone should get this lens - it's affordable, great depth of field, pretty sharp, and I"m loving the results I've gotten with it so far. Got some great shots of my bf (now fiance), but he doesn't want me to post them up

Took this shot on the way downtown this morning. Fall in San Francisco...
