    Angry must be a record...

If anyone can beat this I'll buy them a beer.

Today, according to BID, I have been SubSeven port probed 64 (sixty-four) times by my own isp.

There has gotta be something wrong here. British Telecom are gonna get one hell of a phonecall monday morning...

Don't go off on them so fast.
Keep your cool and see why you are getting requests from them.
Either they are scanning their own network to find / eliminate trojans on their net, or you mistook the probe as a probe from your ISP and it was actually a user with the same service you have.
Make sure your ducks are in a row before yelling @ your ISP.

If I owned an ISP, I would probe for trojans. Hell I'd even use it as a selling point.

    Peace,

funks F.O.S he doesn't even know what port 80 being open means. He doesn't own a ISP might buy a few stock but at most that's all. ISP dont scan to check for trojans I dont think, Its my feeling that I know they dont give a $hit about you inless you forget to pay for your bill. They may have a program that scans but if so there not going to tell you if you have a trojan port open even if you do. IF that's the case they just wanto know how many people have them so they can use that in new letter(this many people have trojans on there computer) If its anything someone spoofer your $hit or ucking with you. The internets a big place dont piss too many people off.

BID is known for false reports. Many people think they are getting probed and they are not.
Go hardware and forget software firewalls.

    Joker....... Ummmmmm

    WHAT?

You totally lost me. Where is there any mention of port 80?

Anyway, I think you already removed your foot from your mouth. Before flaming someone next time, try removing your head from your 4$$.

You really think 64 probes could be false alarms? Maybe BID mistook them for something else, but even so, do your American companies probe you that much?

We're still stuck with 56k modems over here, no cable or adsl yet, so can you get hardware firewalls for 56k's?

Magg, I wasn't refering to you in terms of the lighten up comment, LOL. No, we don't get probed that much. In fact my ISP doesn't probe me at all. On this side of the pond we take our civil liberties very seriously, it's what we're all about. I have Telocity by the way.

    I know

The problem over here is that we just have a couple big companies that supply the whole country with telephone lines. Total monopoly. They can do pretty much what they want, because no-one can do anything about it.

Having a frikking idiot politician running the country doesn't help either.
