FWIW, I found a J1962 connector & cable for OBD II connections to your PC

Bring the car (if you are able) to an Advance Auto store (free) or to a local mechanic? Why bother dicking around? If you cannot do neither, why not get the code and ask someone who would be able to help you? If you are in the US of course.
